of canines,reptiles and shusuks....

how i would like to discuss this book with someone.... this is one of the books that caught my soul with a deth grip in so many days... not because of the dangers lurking in the mangroves; not because of my love of water and its fauna; not becuase i love adventure but because this book is a complete package....

its a story of two generations, with Kanai being the person present in both... he is a dear friend of Kusum and gets to spend time with her son Fokir too... its the un-expressed love of Nirmal for Kusum and of Fokir for Piya... its d devotion of Neelima towards Nirmal and of Moyona towards Fokir.... its d admiration of Kusum by Fokir and of Fokir by Tutul...

Nirmal show his love by joining the Revolutions of Morichjhapi... Fokir by saving Piya till his last breath against the Storm and water... Moyona how-ever ambitious is concerned about Fokir and interprets his feelings perfectly...

Kanai is a mere spectator saying us the story and sometimes witnessing it himself... we have several Kanai's in real life who are full of themselves and everytime they see a women, they strip them naked in their thoughts...

Its the story of evil and good, Dokkhin Rai and Bon-bibi... Its not who wins over but how they maintain a blalance.. Yin and Yang... Mangroves and Human settlements... Water and Land... Perfect Balance...

Its the love of Piya and Fokir... understanding each other perfectly eventhough they don't have a common language... Its the language of sea that they understand and clearly know what the other person is thinking...

Its the playfulness of river Dolphins and stalking of Tigers... its the perfect aim of the Crocodiles...

it is both revolution and social service...

The only one I have read is Shadow Lines, which happened to be in my course...this particular author has a trait of showing both sides of the coin with equal veracity...thanks for the tip on this book...
